Pizza Hut Gluten Free Pizza Review
Watch the Pizza Hut Gluten Free Pizza Review before you order your next pie!
I was excited to see Pizza Hut advertising its new gluten free pizza and was interested to see how it compared to its sister pizza crust, the Italian. It’s also nice to see restaurants accommodating those with gluten intolerance and celiac disease.
We all have our late night cravings and eating out on a gluten free diet can be challenging. I need to emphasise the word ‘diet’ here as the term in this case does not refer to calories or fat content. But everyone is entitled to a little indulgence now and again and what better way to cure a late night hangover than with a gluten free pizza!
A really important thing to consider when ordering gluten free items in a restaurant. Unless the restaurant has been certified gluten free, they cannot guarantee 100% gluten free due to cross contamination and assembly/storage procedures.
Always ask the manager how the food is prepared and what precautions have been made to keep your gluten free meal from contamination. Always eat at own risk, but if you are not sure, make home-made pizza.
The results! Gluten Free vrs. Italian Crust:
Pizza Hut Gluten Free Pizza:
- Comes in 9″ Square Shape, not available in round. The square pizza will ensure there is no confusion at the restaurant level so guests cannot receive a gluten version instead.
- The gluten free crust is firm with a good texture and crunch. I actually liked the gluten free version better than the Italian, truth be told. The italian crust was very flimsy, allowing the toppings and cheese to slide off easily. It was also very greasy.
- The gluten free pizza crust held the toppings well and did not absorb a lot of excess oil.
- Great reheated the next day.
- Good flavour and color.
Overall, the Pizza Hut Gluten Free Pizza gets the thumbs up for those late night pizza cravings!
